Green Protein Smoothie Bowl

Smoothies have always been one of my favorite ways to start the day. Packed with fresh fruits and veggies, they are a great and delicious way to get your fill of energy-boosting proteins and healthy fats.

Not all smoothies are the same: There are bright pink smoothies, yellow or healthy green smoothies, thick purple açai bowls and nice cream, which is basically a banana smoothie without additional milk or water. We even see golden tumeric and deep blue smoothies on Instagram.

Traditional German Apple Pie

Your family and friends will rave when you serve them this amazing German Apple Pie!

This is without lying one of my most requested recipes.

A friend ́s birthday coming up? A new flatmate moved in? Is it already Sunday again? Time to bake German Apple Pie! By now I can probably recite the ingredients in my sleep. Actually, I am pretty sure that I do dream of Apple Pie once in a while… Fresh from the oven and topped with vanilla caramel ice-cream. Hallelujah.

This family favorite is as simple and quick as it is comforting and delightful. My grandma is the proud creator of a German delicacy, or “Apfelstreuselkuchen” as she would say. Don’t worry if this tongue-twister challenges you, I know what will definitely not… You guessed it. Making a bad-ass vegan German Apple Pie.

Earth Day Smoothie Bowl

Better than any Unicorn drink you could ever imagen: The magical Earth Day Smoothie Bowl, straight from a baby blue fairy tale!

A sparkly pink drink sold by a huge coffeeshop chain, has been making baristas cry for a couple of days now. A barista in Colorado, published a video rant on Twitter about the drink, saying that it is terribly difficult to make and very messy. “Please don’t get it!” he said in the video. “I have unicorn crap all in my hair and on my nose. I have never been so stressed out in my entire life.”

The most magical ingredient of the expansive pink frapuccino though? A shitload of refined sugar. 59 g to be exact. That is 15 teaspoons ladies and gentleman. 15. I am just going to let that number sit.

Not to mention, that the frap is not vegan. Though it could be made without cream and milk. But think twice. Do you really want a drink made from your barista’s tears??? We all know that this drink exists only to be instagramed. So, I took it in my hands to come up with a much healthier, cheaper and homemade version – that is equally pretty to look at and totally instagramable!

About Relationships Between Vegans and Meat-Eaters

“I would send her off to where she came from. I mean…of course, she shouldn’t go vegan JUST for me. But if she doesn’t make the connection after two, three months of dating me, with all the information I provide, then I will cut her loose without a second thought. Can’t handle that much indifference and ignorance.”

That was what I got from a guy, I met not so long ago at one of New York’s weekly meet ups for vegans, when I asked him curiously, if he would ever date a meat-eater. I was astonished by his blunt honesty and a tiny bit offended. In all the years of my plant-based journey, it had never occurred to me, that I should rule out a date because the person I wanted to sleep, eat and spend most of my days with, didn’t mind eating animals for lunch. In fact, all the men I have ever seriously dated were heavy meat-eaters. Dang… Now that I see it infront of my eyes like that, I can not but wonder, was that a mistake?

5 Reasons Why You Should Use Vegan Cosmetics

Veganism is about being compassionate, it is about taking the right choices for yourself and your environment. It is standing against cruelty and exploitation of the voiceless.

Is Birth Control Vegan?

I always had the notion, that birth control is a deeply personal issue. Discussing it publicly was never something I would have done, without good reasons. The reasons though, practically fell into my lap when I switched to a plant-based diet and turned my lifestyle upside-down. Of course, it was not long until I had to ask the question: Is birth control vegan? I found the shocking answer – and a simple solution!

Avocado Kale Salad

Nothing better than healthy fats and plenty of greens to jump start your journey to health and fitness! This low carb high fat recipe is simple and quick and hits all the right spots with two of my favourite foods: Avocado and kale!

Did you know that avocados are actually single-seeded berries? They are low in carbs but high in fat. Monounsaturated fat to be exact: A nutrient that helps reduce the risk of heart disease and quiets hunger.
