Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

These crispy Sweet Potato Fries are easy and delicious! Baked to perfection, these chunky sweet potato fries require only a few ingredients and seasonings. Simple and healthy comfort food packed with flavor!

If you’ve never made baked sweet potatoes, then definitely try this recipe! It’s so easy and can be changed to suit your taste buds by choosing different spices.

Why I love sweet potato fries so much? As a non-starchy vegetable, sweet potatoes count towards the 5-a-day tally, plus they contain loads of vitamin C. What can I say, I also really love finger food and dips so this is the perfect snack for me.

 

 

Besides the obvious health benefits of the veggie itself, this easy peasy recipe relies on ingredients such as coconut oil, turmeric, and cumin to create a heavenly crunchy texture and unique flavor.

As a side note: These baked fries are also far less fatty than their deep-fried counterpart!

Let me warn you! These baked Sweet Potato Fries are addictive. You can serve them alone, with homemade ketchup or a delicious guacamole.

I love to snack on them, have them as a side with salad or on their own!

You can really never go wrong with sweet potato fries, can you?

 

Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

 

Ingredients

(for 2 servings)

  • 3 medium-sized sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp coconut or chickpea flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200C.
  2. Wash the potatoes and cut them into chunky strips! No worries, this is not a beauty contest! I love thick, irregular strips.
  3. In a large bowl, combine coconut oil, flour, and spices. Then give the fries in the bowl and mix with a wooden spoon or your hands (don’t be shy!).
  4. Put the sweet potato fries on a baking tray (use parchment paper) and bake in the oven for 30 mins.
  5. Enjoy with a homemade sauce, guacamole or just drizzle tahini on top.
