Vegan Nomad Explores Amsterdam

The capital of Holland is about more than tulips, cheese and bicycles. With a number of vegan and vegetarian restaurants and a whole lot of love for plant-based foodies, this city is well worth taking a closer look into the food scene!

Check out my video and learn about my top 3 food spots!

It has been quite calm these last days on the blog. No wonder, have I taken it easy to explore Amsterdam with my mom, packed up my stuff in Germany and took off for yet another adventure in New York. Back in Brooklyn, I am looking at the video material I filmed these past days and weeks, and must say: Hell, I had a whole lot of fun.

I just had 3 days in Amsterdam, not counting the days of arrival and departure. But I ate more than 9 incredibly good vegan meals. One or two times at the same place, out of convenience 😉 But check out this short video and see yourself!

By the way, you would make my day if you hit subscribe! I am having a shit ton of fun doing these vlogs and my little heart would jump in joy if you liked the results!

Jen´s Top 3 Picks for Vegan Foodies in Amsterdam

Beter & Leuk

Vegetarian cafe and lunchroom, at this location since 2012. Offers high tea, and every first Sunday of the month a vegan brunch! Mom and me went for breakfast, love it and came back for more the next day! They sell delicious baked goods, but you should try their rice bowls and sandwiches, they are out of this world!

Eerste Oosterparkstraat 91, Amsterdam

Open Mon 12:00pm-5:00pm, Tue-Sat 10:00am-5:00pm, Sun 11:00am-4:00pm

Café Bru

A freshly-brewed cup of coffee, pot of specialty tea or a home-made vegan treat. Taking its inspiration from South African coffee bars, Coffee Bru aims to be an extension of its patrons’ living rooms with its accessible and laid-back atmosphere. They are not vegan, but have at least one vegan sandwich and a couple of sweets. Try the chocolate coconut bar if you can get your hands on it!

Beukenplein 14, Amsterdam

Open Mon-Fri 8:00am-6.00pm, Sat/Sun 9:00am-6:00pm

Vegabond

Vegan store with a small comfortable cafe area. Cafe serves sandwiches and wraps, hot and cold drinks, cakes and raw chocolate. A small seating area overlooks the canal. A little minus: They don´t have a restroom. Come on, this has to be mentioned, right? 😛 Store sells vegan products varying from meat substitutes to candy bars to shampoo and moisturiser.

Leliegracht 16, Amsterdam

Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-6:00pm, Sun 12:00pm-5:00pm
