Visiting New York will be one of the best decisions you can take if you are a vegan travel lover and foodie! With one veggie hotspot on every block, you won’t go hungry in the Big Apple!
I am trying to cover them all for you, but let me tell you, my waistline doesn’t appreciate these treats as much as my spoiled tastebuds do 😉
Anyways, I discovered a real gem in Park Slope. Yesss. Brooklyn baby!!!! — AND IT´S ALL ON TAPE!
Sun In Bloom, a conscious vegan kitchen, offers an organic, gluten-free and vegan menu in a clean, quiet escape from the city streets. The food is created to nourish the body with energy and love. You will find raw cuisine and macrobiotic dishes (soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, etc.), raw desserts, gluten free vegan baked goods, nut milks and 100% organic fresh pressed juices on the menu.
Sun in Bloom is located close to my current apartment, just on the edge of Park Slope in Brooklyn, so I frequently visit and enjoy a nice long Sunday brunch with friends. Just a couple days ago, I took my boyfriend out for a late breakfast and we landed here. Sharing gluten-free pancakes and burritos, we loved every bit(e) of our meal! Vegan travel has never been as fun as here in New York!
Sun In Bloom makes all of their food, desserts, and beverages from scratch in their kitchen on Bergen Street. It is not inexpensive, but neither is it truly over-priced, and supporting commitment to community, healthy super-nutritious food, animals and the environment will leave you just as content as the flavourful and thoughtfully prepared food.
Sun in Bloom is worth a visit! And while you are there, take advantage and stroll through the close Prospect Park. You will not only burn of a few of those calories on your vegan travel trips (oh they are so worth it!!!), but also get a great feeling for what it is like to live on this side of the river! If you feel like a little more than a stroll through the park, check out my friend Timo´s post. He helps you to find the perfect workout!
Address: 460 Bergen St – Brooklyn – New York – 11217
